How to have a great Saturday

April 24th, 2012 11:56am - Posted By: Connie and Shari

Last Saturday, we got to participate in the 63rd Street Farm's Earth Day celebration. IT WAS GREAT! We had such a great time, and were reminded (again) of what we love about this crazy business we've chosen. Here's what I mean.... Launching a food truck buisness is hard work. We've had plenty of challenges, and know we'll have plenty more. So be it. Because here's the thing: We get to work with and serve happy, positive, enthusiastic people who share our values about making a positive impact on our world through a focus on community.

People like....

This is me (Connie) with Amanda. She and her husband own the lovely little slice of heaven that is the 63rd Street Farm. In addition to providing food to the Boulder community, the farm offers a Retreat Center that hosts sustainable programs, educational retreats, permaculture classes and other workshops that revolve around the overwhelming conversation of creating a sustainable future. Awesome.

At the festival, we parked the bus right next to Settembre Cellars, who was handing out tastings of their old-world styled wines, crafted from Colorado grapes. If you've never sampled wine from this small family winery, you must. They are making some really great wine. And, if you live in Boulder, they will even deliver your wine to your door via bicycle delivery service.

And then there were those who came out for the celebration. We served over 100 delicious wild blueberry frozen yogurt cones to people teeming with spirit for the upcoming growing season at this Community Supported Agriculture farm.

There was hula hooping and baby animals, laughter and fun.

It was a GREAT Saturday.

Dont' forget to check out where we'll be this week! We update our route plans and menu every Friday.

See you soon!

Come Plant a Tree! (And eat some yogurt.)

April 20th, 2012 7:25pm - Posted By: Connie and Shari

Join us on Saturday, April 21st for Plant a Tree Day at the lovely 63rd St. Farm in Boulder!

Come on down and plant a tree and learn about CSA food shares.

PLUS - we'll be serving up wild blueberry frozen yogurt cones from 1-4. Do something good for our world, learn about sustainable farming, enjoy the beautiful spring weather while savoring the best frozen yogurt this side of.... well, this side of anything (if we do say so ourselves). We can't think of a better way to spend a Saturday.

Here's where to go:

Since its conception in 2005 the 63rd. St. Farm has had the intention of developing community by promoting health and wellness through Permaculture. With this intention it has been part of our model to not only provide food but to provide our guests with an environment that is conducive to health, wellness and a sustainable future. It's a lovely place.
